Beyond traditional tutoring
When an exam throws an unfamiliar, unpredictable problem at a student, standard pattern memorisation fails. With backgrounds rooted in Physics PhDs and advanced technology development, our entire careers have been built around one core skill: breaking down complex, unfamiliar problems from first principles. We bring this exact framework to our students—teaching them to strip away the noise, think systematically, and debug their own logic under pressure.
Our methodology
The 12-week Proficiency Cycle
Our curriculum is built on a 12-topic matrix across two separate tracks: quantitative & non-verbal reasoning and verbal & linguistic reasoning. We operate on a 6-level Proficiency Map to track progress and achieve mastery.
🔢 The Quantitative & Non-Verbal Track
Number Logic: Master sequences, prime, square, and cube properties so children spot numerical patterns instantly rather than using slow trial-and-error.
Operational Fluency: Build high-speed mental mechanics and arithmetic laws to eliminate careless errors under strict time limits.
Proportional Reasoning: Master fractions, decimals, and percentages so shifting between formats becomes second nature under exam conditions.
Ratio & Proportion: Learn how to track varying quantities without getting tripped up when scales and parts in ratios change.
Multi-Step Word Problems: Decode text-heavy narratives and quickly pull out the actual maths required.
Applied Geometry & Spatial Mechanics: Calculate perimeters, compound areas, volumes, and 3D net folding accurately without missing unit traps or spatial twists.
🔤 The Verbal & Linguistic Track
Data & Analytics: Interrogate statistical tables, charts, Venn diagrams, and logic grids to extract accurate data under pressure.
Structural Patterns: Crack alphanumeric codes, letter tracks, and symbol series by mastering the underlying structural rules.
Lexical Roots & Vocabulary: Use morphology, roots, prefixes, and suffixes to decode unfamiliar academic vocabulary, synonyms, and complex anagrams.
Textual Analysis: Build speed-reading and literal retrieval techniques to find evidence and make deep inferences without running out of time.
Semantic Logic: Navigate word analogies, conceptual relationships, and odd-one-out groupings by isolating the precise link between words.
Applied Frameworks: Master verbal logic puzzles, chronological ordering, and constraint sorting by neatly organising clues.
The Proficiency Map
Personalised Progression Tracking
Every student has their own personalised "Progress Heatmap". We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Your child's progress through our Proficiency Map is tracked across each of our 12 topics. They advance to the next level only when they can demonstrate that they truly understand the current one.
Every term, parents will receive a report on their child's progress, highlighting where they have advanced, as well as areas where knowledge gaps may need to be addressed.
A performance-focused environment
High-touch teaching: With a maximum 4:1 student to coach ratio, your child will get the attention they need to progress.
Show Your Logic: We discourage students from holding complex, multi-step calculations entirely in their heads where errors hide. Every critical step of their thinking must be documented on paper, allowing them to audit their own work.
Proof of exclusion: Multiple choice questions are a trap for the unprepared. We require students to actively prove why wrong answers are wrong, not just pick (or guess) the right one.
Debugging their work: We don't "fix" their mistakes; we coach students to locate the "bugs" in their own thinking, ensuring they don't repeat their mistakes on exam day.
Logistics, Pricing and Expectations
The clinic is aimed at Y4-Y6 students targeting the 11+, independent school entrance exams and SATs/CATs used for secondary school streaming. Each term will cover the 12 topics in our curriculum in one-hour intensive sessions.
All new students begin their journey working through our Core & Precision tiers (Levels 2–3). This allows us to instantly evaluate their real-time execution, iron out any hidden careless habits, and get them ready to launch into our advanced Optimisation and Mastery tiers.
Please note we are not a catch-up service. We focus on performance acceleration for serious students.
Location: Merton Park Primary School
Schedule: Wednesdays 3:30-4:30pm during school term times
Pricing: Sessions are priced at ÂŁ25 each, paid on a term-by-term basis.
