Most students fail to perform to their potential under exam conditions not because they lack knowledge, but because they don't have a logical framework. They rush, they guess and they repeat errors because they don't know how to debug their own thinking. We transform students from passive learners into problem-solvers.
Our methodology
The 12-week Proficiency Cycle
Our curriculum is built on a 12-topic matrix across two separate tracks: quantitative & non-verbal reasoning and verbal & linguistic reasoning. We operate on a 6-level Proficiency Map to achieve mastery.
🔢 The Quantitative & Non-Verbal Track
Number Logic: Sequences, prime/square/cube properties, place value, and base systems.
Operational Fluency: High-speed mental mechanics, arithmetic laws (distributive/associative), and BIDMAS order-of-operations frameworks.
Proportional Reasoning: Fractions, decimals, percentages, and the mechanics of scaling ratios.
Multi-Step Word Problems: Translating complex, text-heavy narratives into mathematical formulas.
Applied Geometry: Perimeter, compound area, 3D volume, angles, and coordinate geometry.
Spatial Mechanics: Non-verbal reasoning, including 3D shape visualisation, net folding, rotations, reflections, and matrix geometric logic.
🔤 The Verbal & Linguistic Track
Data & Analytics: Interrogating statistical tables, charts, Venn/Carroll diagrams and binary logic grids.
Structural Patterns: Verbal reasoning via alphanumeric codes, letter-number tracks, and symbol series completions.
Lexical Roots & Vocabulary: Morphology and structural word composition, including prefixes, suffixes, Greek/Latin roots, anagram decoding, and advanced lexical knowledge (synonyms, antonyms, and missing-word sentences).
Textual Analysis: Speed-reading, literal retrieval, deep inference, and evidence-backed deduction under time pressure..
Semantic Logic: Navigating word analogies, conceptual relationships, semantic classifications, and logic-based odd-one-out groupings.
Applied Frameworks: Mastering verbal grid logic puzzles, chronological ordering, and complex constraint sorting.
The Proficiency Map
Personalised Progression Tracking
Every student has their own personalised "Progress Passport". We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Your child's progress through our Proficiency Map is tracked across all 12 topics. They advance to the next level only when they can demonstrate that they truly understand the current one.
Twice per term, parents will receive a report on their child's progress, highlighting where they have advanced, as well as areas where knowledge gaps may need to be addressed.
A performance-focused environment
High-touch teaching: With a maximum 4:1 student to coach ratio, your child will get the attention they need to progress
No mental arithmetic: Every step in their thinking must be written down. We teach students to "show their working" and document their internal logic.
Proof of exclusion: Multiple choice questions are a trap. We require students to prove why wrong answers are wrong, not just pick the right one.
Debugging their work: We don't "fix" their mistakes; we coach students to locate the "bugs" in their own thinking.
Logistics, Pricing and Expectations
The clinic is aimed at Y4-Y6 students targeting the 11+, independent school entrance exams and SATs/CATs used for secondary school streaming. Each term will cover the 12 topics in our curriculum in one-hour intensive sessions.
Sessions are priced at £25 each, paid on a term-by-term basis.
All new students will start at our core baseline level (Proficiency levels 2-3) to calibrate their logic. As they progress through the levels they will be expected to work collaboratively with other students to explain how they arrived at their answers (being able to teach a topic demonstrates an intimate understanding of that topic).
Please note we are not a catch-up service. We focus on performance acceleration for serious students.
